Environmental management system (EMAS) in the information centers of the natural protected areas network of Castilla y León.

Implementation of an environmental management system (EMAS III Regulation EEC 1221/2009) in the visitors centers of the Protected Areas network of Castile and Leon as well as in the headquarters (PRAE) ((Valladolid)), managed by the Natural Heritage Foundation of Castilla y León.

The system, validated by TÜV, has improved the environmental performance of the organization with savings over 35% in electricity, water and oil consumptions, which it has led to a reduction of 34% in CO2 emissions (2008-2014) and a significant economic saving.
