Protected areas can and should be able to report socio-economic benefits to local populations, what is possible through the enhancement of goods and services which they generate. This is precisely the main objective of the project carried out at the initiative of the Natural Heritage Foundation of Castilla y León.
Among the activities include:
- assess the socio-economic impact and job creation of the natural parks of Castilla y León
- produce a book to disseminate the results
- communicate the results in seminars organized throughout the region
Part of the results are collected in the publication “Entrepreneurs and employment in Protected Areas of Castilla y Leon”
